Questions to the supplier
Ready to copy. Items and figures come from your list, nothing is invented. Read the letter before sending it.
03What the checker finds
This is what it checks on every item of the list.
Every item of the new list is matched to the old one by item number, EAN or description and compared per unit, with price unit and pack content converted. Stop means: do not load like this. Check means: ask the supplier.
- Increase above the thresholdEvery item above your threshold is reported, from three times the threshold as stop. With annual quantities, it also shows what the increase costs you a year.
- Hidden increaseSame price, smaller pack: 50 instead of 66 metres of tape is 32 percent more per metre. If the list states the content, the checker compares per content.
- Price unit or unit changedPrice per 500 instead of per 1,000, case instead of roll. The checker converts where it can and reports where a comparison is not possible without the supplier’s input.
- Minimum order raisedA higher minimum order is an increase through the back door: more stock or extra cost if your demand does not carry it.
- Price missing, duplicate item number“On request”, zero or the same number with two prices: such a list does not belong in the ordering system.
- EAN, unit, currencyWrong check digits, missing units and mixed currencies otherwise only show up in the warehouse or on the invoice.
- Dropped, new, cheaperDropped items with an annual quantity need a replacement, new items a comparison quote and cheaper ones the new price in the system.
04In the chain · inputs
First the list, then the market, then the invoice.
The Catalog Checker shows what gets more expensive. The Price Increase Checker shows whether the market supports it: it takes over the overall increase with one click. The Invoice Detective later checks whether the invoice hits the agreed price.

CSV with semicolon, comma or tab, or Excel. Letterhead rows above the table do no harm. If old and new price are in one file (“price old” and “price new” or “price 2025” and “price 2026”), that one file is enough. Common other column names are recognised.
05Questions and answers
What businesses ask us most.
Where do I get the old price list?
Usually from your ordering system, your inventory software or the supplier’s last email. Without it, the checker checks the new list for data errors only. If old and new price are in one file, that is enough.
Why the annual quantities?
With quantities the checker weights the increase: a box you buy 12,000 times a year counts more than a dispenser. It then also shows what the new list costs you a year. The quantity goes into the old list as a column.
Are my price lists uploaded?
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server or stored. Only if you load a photo does the AI read the table from it.
Does the checker need AI?
No. It works by fixed rules and always gives the same result for the same data. That is why there is no daily limit.
Is the letter to the supplier legal advice?
No. The letter asks questions with your figures and requests a reason or a correction. Whether an increase is permitted depends on your contract.
What does the checker cost?
Nothing. The Catalog Checker is free, without an account and without a daily limit.
