    Roles and staffing

Every column of the matrix runs against the staff list: as a name or as a role. A role without an active person means: its tasks land with nobody.

The result is a check sheet. The checker changes nothing in your systems.

    03What the checker finds

This is what it checks on every task.

Every task runs against the basic rule of RASCI, exactly one A and at least one R, and against the staff list. Stop means: accountability is missing or runs into nothing. Check means: gap or risk.

    1. No A or several AWithout an A nobody is accountable. With two A, in the end nobody is either. Stop, set exactly one role.
    2. A or R without an active personThe person left, the role is empty or not on the staff list at all. Then the task lands with nobody.
    3. A absentEveryone in the role is absent on the reference date. For that period the task needs a deputy.
    4. No R or many RNobody does the work, or four or more roles do. Both mean: nobody starts.
    5. Segregation of dutiesThe same role maintains suppliers and approves payments, orders and posts the goods receipt, orders and checks the invoice, or awards and pays. These are the places where purchasing loses money.
    6. Codes, duplicates, empty rolesAnything other than R, A, S, C and I is reported. The German form D, V, M, I is read as well. Duplicate tasks and roles without a task too.
    7. One head for many thingsOne role is A for many tasks. If it drops out, a lot stops at once. Set a deputy or spread the accountability.

Two checkers, one question: who decides?

The Approval Matrix Checker checks who may approve money. The RASCI Checker checks who is accountable for a task. Both read the same staff list: set it up once, use it twice.

    05Questions and answers

    What businesses ask us most.

Where do I get the RASCI matrix?

Usually it sits as an Excel file in the project or process handbook. The checker reads CSV and Excel, in wide form (one column per role) or long form (task, who, code). It also takes photos and PDFs.

    Are my tables uploaded?

No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server or stored. Only if you load a photo does the AI read the table from it.

    Does the checker need AI?

No. It works by fixed rules and always gives the same result for the same data. That is why there is no daily limit.

How is this different from the approval matrix?

The approval matrix sets who may approve money up to which amount. The RASCI matrix sets who does a task, is accountable, supports, is consulted and informed. Check both with the same staff list.

    What does the checker cost?

Nothing. The RASCI Checker is free, without an account and without a daily limit.
